The Upper Savinja valley is a beautiful and amazing mountain landscapes and the Savinja river is its greatest gem and one of the main tourist attractions.
The Savinja river is a typical alpine river, with a lot of riffles, pockets, deep pools and dams. Since the water is very clean, the river abounds in water fauna.
The Ljubno ob Savinji Fishing Club, with its seat in the village of Ljubno, looks after the river. The Savinja river is surrounded by pristine nature, where there is always something to do even for those who do not flyfish.
The Ljubno ob Savinji Fishing Club looks after all the rivers and streams in the districts of Solčava, Luce and Ljubno ob Savinji. This mostly consists of the Savinja river, the Lucnica river and all the streams nearby.
Only flyfishing is allowed in all areas, with the use of just one fly on the leader. Flies must be tied on barbless hooks or the barb must be smashed down! Spinning and other forms of fishing are not allowed. Flyfishing out of a boat is not allowed, and flyfishing from bridges or similar structures is also not permitted.

Daily catch: 1 grayling bigger than 50cm or 2 rainbow trout bigger than 30cm and smaller than 40cm (30–40cm).
Brown trout and huchen (Danube salmon) are protected. Catch and release only.
