Hotel Plesnik may feel wonderfully secluded in the heart of the Kamnik-Savinja Alps, yet the Logar Valley is surprisingly well connected to the rest of Europe – and, from 2027, directly to the United States.
The big news is the new United Airlines nonstop service between New York/Newark (EWR) and Ljubljana (LJU). Starting 12 May 2027, four weekly flights will provide a direct link between Slovenia and the US, with onward connections through Newark opening up easy access from cities across North America.
For European travellers, Ljubljana Airport offers direct connections with major cities and international hubs including Frankfurt, Munich, Zurich, Paris, Amsterdam, London, Brussels, Istanbul and Copenhagen, making it a convenient gateway for a stay in the Logar Valley.
But Ljubljana is not the only option. Zagreb Airport in neighbouring Croatia provides another convenient gateway, particularly for guests combining Slovenia and Croatia, with an extensive network of European and international connections. Depending on the itinerary, Graz, Klagenfurt, Trieste and Venice can also serve as useful arrival or departure points – giving tour operators greater flexibility when creating multi-country and tailor-made programmes.
And that is one of Slovenia’s great advantages: distances are manageable. A stay at Hotel Plesnik can easily be combined with Ljubljana, the Slovenian Alps, wine regions, the Adriatic coast or neighbouring Croatia, Austria and Italy.
Whether your clients arrive directly in Ljubljana or discover the Logar Valley as part of a wider European journey, Hotel Plesnik can be much closer than its peaceful Alpine setting suggests.
