Hotel Plesnik Restaurant has reached another milestone
Hot on the heels of receiving the coveted Green Michelin Star in June –one of the highest global accolades for sustainable gastronomy – the Hotel Plesnik Restaurant has reached another extraordinary milestone: its debut in the esteemed Falstaff Restaurant Guide 2025. Awarded 89 points and two forks, the restaurant now ranks among the culinary elite of the broader Alpine region.
What Do Two Falstaff Forks Represent?
Falstaff assesses restaurants across four key criteria: the quality of the cuisine, ambiance, service and wine selection. With 100 points as the maximum possible score, restaurants earning between 85 and 89 points are awarded two forks – a mark of a truly excellent restaurant, distinguished by exceptional quality and a strong, clearly defined culinary identity.
Where Local Traditions Meet Elevated Taste
Behind this achievement is a passionate culinary team led by acclaimed chefs Janez Bratovž and Tom Čopar. Together, they have created a bold gastronomic story rooted in hyper-local sourcing, seasonal rhythms and a profound respect for nature.
Tasting menus evolve in harmony with the landscape – not just with the seasons, but with the subtle weekly shifts observed in surrounding forests, meadows and local farms. The kitchen draws inspiration from nearby pastures, backyard gardens and foraged treasures, while also breathing new life into time-honoured recipes from the family cookbook of grandmother Marija Plesnik – beautifully reimagined for today’s diners.
Logar Valley: A Rising Star in Culinary Tourism
In recent years, the Logar Valley has emerged as a rising star on the map of sustainable culinary tourism. Prestigious honours from both Michelin and Falstaff reaffirm that the Hotel Plesnik Restaurant is not only a proud standard-bearer of Slovenia’s green gastronomy but also proof that unforgettable, world-class dining experiences can flourish right in the heart of pristine nature.
