This year’s Culinary October at Hotel Plesnik promises to be more vibrant and festive than ever, as it coincides with two remarkable milestones – the 30th anniversary of the hotel’s reopening and 150 years of tourism in the Logar Valley.

4 October | Chefs’ Showdown: Jagodic, Bratovž and Čopar
For the grand opening, chefs Janez Bratovž and Tom Čopar will be joined by guest chef Igor Jagodic of the renowned Strelec Restaurant. An evening of creativity, flavour and front-row excitement awaits – to be savoured with every bite.
8 October | Culinary Walk: Herbs and Flavours of the Logar Valley
A guided walk through the fragrant meadows and serene forests of the Logar Valley offers a glimpse into the rich herbalist tradition of the Solčavsko region. Led by herbalist Amanda Kladnik – Babave, guests will explore the surrounding landscape and the hotel’s herb garden. The experience concludes with the preparation of a flavourful herbal spread, paired with fresh cottage cheese from local farms.
The walk will take place with a minimum number of participants; advance registration is required.
10–19 October | Autumn Restaurant Week
This October, Restaurant Week returns to the Logar Valley, and both loyal fans and newcomers will find plenty to celebrate. Dedicated to exceptional cuisine at welcoming prices, the week is the perfect excuse to visit Hotel Plesnik’s restaurant – proudly featured this year on several lists of Slovenia’s best dining destinations.
On Thursdays and Fridays, the culinary experience continues with a screening of the documentary Povesti s Plesti, produced for the hotel’s 30th anniversary. The film tells the story of tourism in the Savinja Alps through the eyes of the Plesnik family.

11 October | Cooking Workshop with Chef Janez Bratovž
Did you know that one of the signature dishes of legendary chef Janez Bratovž is ravioli? 24–26 October | Jubilee Celebration
The final weekend of October will transform Hotel Plesnik into a stage of celebration and tradition. From 24 to 26 October, a rich programme will mark two milestones – the 30th anniversary of the hotel’s reopening and 150 years of tourism in the Logar Valley, a legacy deeply intertwined with the hospitality of the Plesnik family.
The festivities will include a screening of a documentary chronicling the Plesnik family story and the region’s 150 years of mountaineering and tourism, a guided walk “Along the Trail of the Pioneers of Tourism in the Logar Valley,” a gala evening with a refined culinary journey and special entertainment, and the launch of the commemorative book Povesti s Plesti.
25 October | Gala Dinner of Three Chefs with Prize Game
The pinnacle of the celebration will be the Gala Dinner of Three Chefs, where three acclaimed culinary masters will each present their own tribute to the 30-year story of this boutique Alpine hotel and its celebrated culinary direction. Hotel Plesnik’s chefs Tom Čopar and Janez Bratovž will be joined by a mystery guest chef whose creations never fail to impress. Guests can also take part in the online prize game Guess the Chef on Hotel Plesnik’s social channels for a chance to showcase their knowledge of Slovenia’s culinary scene and win an exclusive reward.
